germans love a good speech

Those Germans are really good at packing in for a political speech. I'm sure all the pictures of super excited Germans will do wonders for Obama's Campaign. Maybe he should pick David Hasselhoff as his VP. It's not too late to lock up the German vote. I know Obama claimed to have campaigned in 58 states. At first I thought it was a slip up from being tired, now I think he's actually scouting out prospective nations as possible new States. I actually don't think the Germans would mind. The German Press is already calling him 44.

George W. Bush is yesterday, the Texas version of the arrogant world power. Obama is all about today: the "everybody really just wants to be brothers and save the world" utopia. As for us, we who sometimes admire and sometimes curse this somewhat anemic, pragmatic democracy, we will have to quickly get used to Barack Obama, the new leader of a lofty democracy that loves those big nice words -- words that warm our hearts and alarm our minds.
The American Press isn't quite so bold. Journalists in America are a little bit more subtle about their bias. I have a feeling all of this utopia talk is going to end up leaving a lot of people feeling empty. Maybe not in November, but no one can live up to this kind of hype. Maybe the press can keep this narrative going for eight years. They are certainly invested in one outcome.
An analysis of federal records shows that the amount of money journalists contributed so far this election cycle favors Democrats by a 15:1 ratio over Republicans, with $225,563 going to Democrats, only $16,298 to Republicans.

Two-hundred thirty-five journalists donated to Democrats, just 20 gave to Republicans -- a margin greater than 10-to-1. An even greater disparity, 20-to-1, exists between the number of journalists who donated to Barack Obama and John McCain.
